Guatemala Mission Trip | Prince of Peace 2014

After being home for a couple of weeks I have poured through the 1000’s of photos I took in such a short time span.  I feel like I captured so much … but so many other things that I didn’t.  It was an experience that I wanted to absorb personally for myself and for my daughter and I left some of my story telling up to the lens of my iPhone.  I do not regret that in any way, but I do hope to return soon and document even more!

The portraits of the girls that I captured can be found on an early blog post HERE.

From the moment we arrive on Campus we were greeted with lots of hugs of many smiling faces!

Prince of Peace Guatemala Mission Trip 2014

We were excited and a little apprehensive about our very first visit to Taco Man! We were told it was an experience that we could not miss and I have to agree! I cannot wait to go there again! Delicious!!

My family joined a Mission Team from East Side Community Church in Richmond, KY! They were each so kind and caring and our trip was enhanced tremendously by their team who welcomed us like old friends!

Our first morning was spent installing a stove for a wonderful young lady who lives in the the local Community!

The Eastside Team made arrangements for the ALL of the girls living at Prince of Peace to spend two hours playing and running in this amazing soccer complex!  It was so fun to watch how they independently divided into teams and played a very competitive and friendly game! These girls gave the guys from our trip a run for their money!  🙂
